Here are some exciting summer events going on with the Fifth Anniversary of the Classic Theatre Festival this summer.
Youth Theatre Troupe Bring Perth History Alive
Watch our local youth bring the history of Perth alive by acting as one of the historical personalities. This summer the Classic Theatre has hired youths 18-29 to play a role in this summer’s youth theatre project, Youth Theatre Troupe Bring Perth History Alive. This will be great fun as you stroll around historic downtown and learn all about our interesting history. This is your opportunity to learn about Perth and the fascinating people that helped to build our town. Tours start June 25, 11am at Perth’s Matheson House Museum.
Come Blow Your Horn
This theatrical production runs from July 11-August 3. The festical opens with the Neil Simon comedy Come Blow Your Horn, a hilarious satire on the early 60’s swinging bachelor lifestyle that launched this prolific playwright’s Broadway career. It promises many of the classic characters and comic moments that are Simon trademarks.
Dial ‘M’ for Murder
Our second show of the 2014 season is one of the all-time favourite mystery thrillers, Frederick Knott’s Dial M for Murder, which was later made into an Alfred Hitchcock film. The tale of a fading tennis star whose petty jealousies lead him to plot a dastardly crime, it’s the kind of edge-of-your-seat drama that The New York Times calls “remarkably good theatre, tingling with excitement.”
