8th Annual Santa’s Workshop with Maple Key Day Camp

2016-11-23_153532

One of the most anticipated camp events of the whole year!

At Santa’s Workshop kids get to make special gifts for their families under the guidance of MKDC staff. The projects are different every year but always awesome! We also wrap our gifts, make cards, and round out the day by making a yummy festive snack and playing some holiday games. Our staff look forward to this day just as much as the kids!

Psst… Parents… do you realize you’ll have the day free to do your Christmas shopping? In PEACE? We thought you’d like that.

$45 for one “elf”, $75 for two “elves” (includes lunch, snacks, and all materials for several gifts, wrapping, & cards)

PLEASE NOTE that as with all MKDC events, advance registration is required. We have a limited number of spaces and cannot accomodate drop-ins. Register early to avoid disappointment!

The Bells of St. Paul’s in Concert 2016

12

Sunday, November 20th, 2016, at 3 pm, the Bells of St. Paul’s, ringing joyfully for 24 years, will be presenting a concert at St. Paul’s United Church”. This concert will feature the handbell choir and several guest artists from this area, under the Direction of Ann McMahon. Free will offering will be accepted at the doors.

Each year of the handbell choir’s existence, handbell music and handbell musicians have been changing and developing. Sharing these developments in a concert is indeed a joy.

For one thing, handbell music is no longer limited to church music. Several composers now write music specifically for this beautiful instrument. The concert program will include sizzling, jazzy, and swingy selections, sensitive and expressive melodies, and a few surprises! The techniques employed in bringing the music to life have greatly expanded beyondjust ringing.  And, in addition to being more interesting for audiences, the new music and new techniques have attracted a high caliber of musicians.
