The Regimental Band of the Governor General’s Foot Guards will be returning for their fifth concert at St. Paul’s United Church in Perth on Labour Day Sunday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m
The band shares a close connection to the Governor General and provides music for many ceremonies in the Ottawa area, including the annual nationally televised Remembrance Day ceremony held at the National War Memorial. The band is immediately recognizable in their iconic scarlet tunics and bearskin hats.
The band will showcase its different small ensembles from the flute, clarinet, saxophone, and brass sections. They will also perform “programmatic” music for the entire band: a musical fantasy depicting Godzilla’s attempt to take over Las Vegas, and other exciting tunes from the cinema. The program will be rounded out with several gorgeous works written by Canadian composers.
Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be welcomed at the door with proceeds to St. Paul’s to cover advertising and promotion.

Cyclosportif Perth – Cycle Tour Route through Perth and District
Late September brings with it the beginning of the beautiful fall colours in the Rideau Lakes Township and we want you to experience it firsthand.
Come join hundreds of cyclists on the roads in, around and between Perth, Murphy’s Point, Portland, and Westport.
Cyclosportif Perth is not a race–there will be no results and no timed sections. You can go hard if you want, or you can simply take your time and enjoy the scenery.
We’ve got something for most everyone, from “The Roadie 100k” to “The Roadie 100 Miles” to the even more adventurous folks who like a bit of dirt and gravel with “The Dirty Version”–100k on a mix of paved and dirt roads.
