Maple weekend

2The Lanark and District Maple Syrup Producers will be hosting the second Annual Maple Weekend on April 2 – 3, 2016 from 10am to 4pm. Participants in Maple Weekend can be found across the province in a number of maple syrup producing areas.

Join the fun at a local sugar house. Sugar makers will invite you to share in the centuries-old craft of maple sugaring. Come and talk to the producers in your local area. They will be happy to share with you how their operation works.

During Maple Weekend our maple producers will demonstrate how maple syrup is made – whether it’s simply boiling the sap in a cauldron over an open fire, or processing it through high-tech RO systems and modern fuel efficient evaporators.

You can participate by checking the maple syrup producer map page for a producer near you and plan an outing to a number of producers in your area of interest. Please be sure to read the description of each sugarhouse to know where they are located and the activities they offer.
